Welcome to Mind Body Synergy. Here you will information about Holistic Therapy.
Holism as a health concept has existed for ages outside of academic circles, but only relatively recently has the modern medical establishment begun to integrate it into the mainstream health care system. Holism refers to the idea that an entity is greater than the sum of its parts. In the case of health, the entity in question is the human body. Holistic concepts of health and fitness view achieving and maintaining good health as involving more than just taking care of all the various components that make up the physical body—attention must be paid to aspects such as emotional and spiritual well-being as well. The goal is a wellness that encompasses the entire person, rather than just the lack of physical pain or disease.

Holistic health is not itself a method of treatment, but instead an approach to how treatment should be applied. Traditional medical philosophy treats physical symptoms, using standardized methods such as the prescription of drugs or the undertaking of surgery, while the patient is only passively involved. Practices emphasizing holistic health, on the other hand believe that they are treating the whole person. Practitoners of holistic medicine believe that attitudes affect the present condition, and the patient may play an active role in the healing process.

The main purpose of holistic health is to provide counseling, psychotherapy, and mind body therapies to individuals, couples and groups who are seeking professional help for their mental and health needs. Belief in holistic philosophy and its approach to treatment sanctifies the relationship between the mind and body in the creation of health and wellness.

Therapeutic Services

Therapeutic services and educational programs promote and teach the process of healthy healing and personal development and conscious transformation. Each individual has the capacity for self-awareness, knowledge, and the inner capacity for self-healing. One can actively participate in a therapy process and assume a cooperative role in creating health and wellness.

Energy Work

The basic premise of energy medicine is that all living beings arecomprised of energy, and are organized into a smart, automated chain of vibrations and frequencies. Imbalances and blocks in this natural flow of energy create energetic disturbances, which can lead to illness and eventually to disease. Identifying how the energy is flowing in the individual and the healing task restores balance to the “chi”, or primal energy in the body.

Meditation

It is the practice of moving with intention within the self and paying attention to what is. It is being present with the self in the moment, not in the past, not in the future, and without judgment.

Relaxation Exercises

Relaxation exercises help to reduce the symptoms of stress and can be used as coping tools in times of stress. Exercises range from proper breathing to stretching to yoga postures. These give individuals the tools they need to make the reconnection to self and the restoration of health.
